Privacy Policy for Unbound
Welcome to Unbound. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how our application collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Core Principle: No Logs, No Remote Servers
Unbound is designed from the ground up to protect your privacy.
- Local Operation: The application operates entirely locally on your device. The VPN service ("VpnService") used by Unbound is a local interface designed to route and filter your traffic (e.g., bypassing DPI, blocking ads via DNS) directly on your device.
- No Remote Routing: We do NOT route your internet traffic through external or remote VPN servers owned by us.
- No Logging: We do NOT log, monitor, record, or store your browsing history, DNS queries, traffic data, IP addresses, or any other personal data.
2. Information We Collect
Because Unbound operates locally, we do not collect, store, or transmit personal data.
- Permissions: The app may request specific permissions (such as Location for Wi-Fi protection) solely to function correctly (e.g., detecting untrusted networks). This data never leaves your device.
- App Settings: Your preferences (such as Split Tunneling selections, bypass settings, and battery saver preferences) are stored locally on your device.
3. Third-Party Services
If you choose to use the "Bring Your Own Server" (BYOS) feature, your traffic will be routed through the server you specify. We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of third-party servers you manually configure.
4. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
